Group Violin Lessons

Spring Group Beginners Music Lesson

Register now for lessons beginning in April 

Designed for children ages 5-12 who have little or no prior violin training. Prior participation in a group intro to music class will compliment this class nicely but is not necessary. 

First/Second Year Group

Designed for  beginners in their first or second year with playing experience. Must be able to play simple A major scale with correct form and the first few songs in Suzuki book 1. 

If you are not suzuki trained but have playing ability I can get you ready for this group with a few private lessons. 

Spring Little Tykes Weekly Group:

(Ages 3-5, parent participation)

Children will learn:

•  Beginning suzuki rhythms,
• How to follow a steady beat
• Finger and arm dexterity
• Violin handling
• Bow prerequisite technique
• Naming and identifying the strings
• Plucking the strings

Fall Beginner Group

(Ages 5 and up)

For students with little or no prior experience or training in the violin

Fall First/Second Year Group

Designed for beginners in their first or second year with some playing experience. Must be able to play simple A major scale with correct form and the first few songs in Suzuki book 1.

Fall Intermediare Group

Designed for students with a year or more of instruction in violin.

Private Violin Lessons

Starting at any time during the year

For all ages

Private lessons in a relaxed home setting, with parents encouraged to attend. 

Sandpoint violin offers one private half hour lesson per week. More advanced students may choose to double their lessons. Participation in group is strongly encouraged and is at no added cost. 

Regular practicing is essential for developing and increasing skill.

Sandpoint Violin uses Suzuki as a framework for learning beginning violin skills and supplements with fiddle and folk tunes. I also teach reading music when the student and parent decide they are ready. 

Performances

Sandpoint violin has seasonal performances to celebrate and share the music our students create. Performances are a wonderful reward and goal for developing students. 

We perform in public venues such as Hickey Farms Pumpkin Patch, Cedar Street Bridge, The Farmers Market, The Public Library, and area nursing homes. We perform in free public spaces to reduce participation cost and to share the music experience with others at no cost to them! 

All Sandpoint Violin students are encouraged to participate in performances, regardless of length of experience.
